Do you like working with students? Do you feel like you're not doing enough in the community? Do you have a really flexible schedule? Do you feel like you don't do enough volunteering? Do you like Filipino/Filipino American history? Do you have a really good heart? Do you like having fun, while working in the community? Then try out KAMP!
KAMP's Kuyas and Ates have been sharing their passion for FilAm education since 2007, and beyond. This is totally unique program that connects young FilAms in the community with KUYAs and ATEs.
We are currently recruiting for KUYAs and ATEs for this 2009-2010 school year. We will be teaching at Mira Mesa HS, Mt. Carmel HS, Rancho Bernardo HS, Sweetwater Union HS, & Westview HS. More schools may be added during the school year. If you are an alumni from any of these schools, or you happen to live near those locations, consider being a positive role model to those students.

The Kuya/Ate Mentorship Program (KAMP) is a program in which Filipin@/American community members are given the opportunity to facilitate various workshops on Filipin@/American history and culture in high school classrooms. The kuyas and ates will educate and mentor Filipin@/American high school students for the 08'-09' academic year in various high schools throughout San Diego.
